Michelle Rivera has always adored animals. Growing up in Northern California there was always a dog or cat following her around. After rescuing Gemma from the West L.A. shelter several years ago, her life suddenly changed. Now, she was caring for a dog... on her own... and working... A LOT. She hated leaving Gemma alone so she invited other dogs over for "play days". Michelle would come home to find a mini dog day care in her back yard. Her 15-year career as a producer in the entertainment field was coming to an end. She realized there was a need for a safe, fun place for dogs to romp around while their parents were busy. The idea for Chateau Marmutt was born!

Michelle graduated from UCLA and worked as a news reporter and producer before opening up Chateau Marmutt in 1999. Her knowledge of dog behavior has become extensive, spending up to 60 hours a week observing and playing with hundreds of dogs. Her client list includes the hottest dogs in Los Angeles... no paw-o-graphs please. This is their place for working-out and relaxing in private. Michelle plans to open Chateau Marmutts all over the country.
